Both the vowels and set 1-7 and consonant digraphs include boards for the sounds as well as words.

Once they've been cut out (sorry I know its a fiddly one), children pick a sound and find the 4 puzzle pieces that match the sound. The puzzle pieces either have a picture or a word puzzle that matches. I've also included a recording sheet if you wanted to make this a writing activity.
A PowerPoint game that covers some of the words from the Phase 5 word list (others are covered in the other Phase 5 Kym’s Game which is a picture version)
Maximum of 5 words are used per game. There is a game for each of the Phase 5 sounds. Children can either say or write the word that disappears.
This is played in the same way as snakes and ladders only you follow the direction on the rocket when you land on that square.
There are 33 boards in total which include 1 Phase 5 sounds boards, 2 Tricky Words boards, 1 board for each of the Phase 5 sounds and these boards:
* ai board which has words that has the ai/ay/a-e sounds
* ou board which has words that has the ou & ow sounds
* igh board which has words that has the igh/ie/i-e/u/i sounds
* ee board which has words that has the ee/ea/ey/y/ e-e sounds
* oy board which has words that has the oy/oi sounds
* ur board which has words that has the ur/ir/er sounds
* oo board which has words that has the oo/ew/ue/u-e sounds
* aw board which has words that has the aw/or/au sounds
* oa board which has words that has the oa/oe/o-e/ow sounds
* ear board which has words that has the ear/ere/eer sounds
Each sound on the boards listed above has been highlighted in a different colour to aid children to see where the sound comes in the word to help with spelling rules.

Suitable for tables or to keep in trays for individual children. Print or double side the picture page with the correct word list page and the words will be on the back. Then just cut along the dotted lines, hole punch and thread through a treasury tag. Either laminate before cutting or after depending on preference.

Created as I couldn't find a mat that had everything I wanted on one mat.
This pack Phase 3/5 mats with sounds and pictures as well as lower and upper case letters. It also includes three different font versions: Sassoon Infant, CCW Writing and Dyslexie.
The Sassoon Infant and CCW have two versions; one with the HFWs and then the Tricky Words and another where they are in alphabetical order, in coloured coded boxes with Tricky Words in bold.
The Dyslexie version is slightly different and has a sound mat for Phase 3 and Phase 5 separate and a word mat for each phase including Phase 4 for the HFWs and Tricky Words which can be printed/photocopied on to the back of the sound mats.
Based on snakes and ladders there are 11 boards covering the Common Exception Words for Year 2. There are approx 6 different words on each board. Just follow the direction of the pirate ship when you land on the square

These are based on the Year 1 Common Exception Words for the new National Curriculum. It includes:
- Monster Mission (find the word 10 times).
- Monster Mayhem which have groups of the Common Exception Words to find.
- Monster Mix Up where the words are jumbled up. There are two versions of this a cut and stick and a written version.

Could also be used as a bingo type game where the caller says the word and the players say their sound if their sound is in that word.

Consonant letters apart from k (only 2 pictures that started with this sound) can be used as a writing activity as all the pictures can be spelt phonetically.A recording sheet has been included.

How to play
Play as a group or in pairs. Players close or cover their eyes. Adult or chosen child hides one of the bee cards underneath a hive. Players take turns to guess which hive by saying the sound or word that’s on the hive. Winner hides the bee next.
